There is more to Facebook than Farmville!
I ask business owners all the time…”Are you on Facebook?” I get the same answers over and over….”I don’t have time to play games”….”I don’t want my information going out to everyone”….”It takes too much time to keep up with it”….”I don’t see the point”.
Here are my comments to those statements…
1) First, I don’t have time to play games either, so I don’t. It is not a requirement from Facebook that you play Farmville or Mafia Wars. Trust me, I checked.
2) Why wouldn’t a business want their name out there? I want everyone to know who Knowledge For Success is… And since I am the business, I want them to know about me too. Relationship Marketing! Don’t get me wrong. Not everything is a “need to know”.
3) Here’s my question to the “time” statement….How long are you online with emails and/or reading blogs? Quick comments are easy enough to do. It’s also easier to write a short “post” on Facebook than an email. It will also go out to a lot more folks at one time, FREE!
4) The point is…it’s how people are connecting, promoting and marketing. If you listen to the radio, companies now ask you to “Join us on Facebook!”
All that being said, I know it’s extremely hard for us Baby Boomers to get on the band wagon. It’s time. Time to venture out; learn something new, market in a different way. You can do it!!!
Last thing…the live chat is way cool! Oops, scared you again, huh?

No Entrepreneur Expo, City budget reductions and consolidation left a void in supporting the small business owners.
Our Texas Business Development Specialists (TBDS) have come together to fill the imminent void within year 2010 and beyond. We see this ensuing void as a result of the economy, cut backs and new directions taking place within the community. Over the years, the TBDS have built great relationships with the chambers, all forms of government and other business organizations. We keep these partnerships in tact so, as a collaborative group, can succeed in helping small businesses not only located in the Tarrant Area, but the surrounding counties and cities as well.
