The Next Seminar is Friday, June 22, 2012
Why is this seminar important? In this new economy, social media is available 24/7/365. It’s where your customers are looking to learn about you. It’s the way to market. It’s all about growing your business. Social media is more than just doing tweets, writing on a person’s wall or connecting with 1000s of other business people. It’s a strategy. Social Media is not about the technology. It’s all about people and processes.

Word-Everyday Application, Thursday, March 8th 1:00pm-4:30pm
There’s got to be a better way! In Microsoft Word, there is always a better way. Microsoft Word is the most popular word processing program in the world. And, for good reason. It offers a wealth of features that allow you to accomplish just about anything you want with your reports, newsletters, correspondence, and other documents. It’s time you took advantage of everything this amazing software can do for you. This class will show you how to create powerful and professional documents. Because certain aspects of the Word program are so powerful and beneficial, not using them is costing you precious hours every day.
You will learn …
- Achieve Graphic design looks without any special software
- Using available templates, text boxes, smartart and all the new image effects, Word provides a powerful graphics design tool that’s easy to use.
- Need footnotes, bibliographies, or tables of contents that automatically update, Word does that for you.
- Maintain consistent formatting throughout your documents by using the Styles feature.
- Easily add headers, footers and cover pages using your own custom design or standard designs.
- Add pictures to documents and give them that graphic artist touch. Learn to position pictures anywhere on the page and have the text flow smoothly around them.
- Need to “index” the important information in your work, Word provides a simple method to tag the words you want to include in your index and then 3 clicks and your index is automatically generated.
- How to work with formats, margins and tab stops to create visually appealing newsletters, flyers, and even web pages.
- How to use mail merge for custom letters, labels and even emails.
How we present this material . . .
This is not a hands-on training and for a good reason. Everyone works on computers at a different speed. Some people like to experiment, others get lost and need help. In the long run, a hands-on class slows everyone down. Besides, you don’t need practice moving your mouse. You do need to know how your new system’s features work, how to use them and where to activate them.
*New Quests Graduates and Students get special pricing.

When you are starting a new business it can be a daunting task. You may ask yourself, “How will I make money? What will be my strategy? How will my product or service differentiate itself from others in the market? What should my company structure be, LLC, Corporation, Partnership, Sole Proprietor?”
Great questions. But the most important question you may be asking yourself is, “Do I have to do this alone?” The answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT!
At Knowledge for Success we are a small business assistance center, helping small business owners like you to start and grow your business. Our programs include First Step, the first step you would take when you are considering starting a new business. This 2 1/2 hour seminar allows you to look at what is required to start a new business, including insurance, Doing Business As (DBA) documents, insurance and so much more.
When you write a business plan it provides focus, clarity and purpose to your goals. A written business plan helps identify opportunities in a competitive market. We work with many banks in the area. Bankers tell us that written business plans set you apart when you want money for your company. The same holds true for the Small Business Administration (SBA) loans. A written business plan is what they look for first.
“How do I write a business plan?” You could spend countless hours working on a business plan by yourself. You can struggle to find business plan software to help guide you. Or you can choose the solution that has helped countless number of businesses find loans and grants for small business, as well as achieve their dreams and financial success. This option is New Quest. New Quest is a 12 week course that is held on Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 9:00. Dinner is included.
Whether this is your first or one-hundredth time starting a new business you are not alone. At Knowledge for Success, we are your small business assistance center, partnering with you for success.
We also specialize in HUB, Hubzone, Minority, Veteran and Women Owned Businesses.
